You’re invited to UCC’s September virtual summit on future of the church
The church of today. The church of the future. How can community-building bridge the gap between them?
That’s a driving question for next month’s United Church of Christ summit, “The Space Between: The Emerging Church in a Post-Pandemic World,” held online Sept. 19-21.
The virtual gathering will center around presentations, or “provocations,” from prophetic voices within the UCC. Then, participants will have opportunities to respond and discuss in small groups. An agenda can be found here. Each participant will have access to all video recordings after the event. Registration is $50 and is open to everyone until Sept. 15.
Community is key to the future of the church after the COVID-19 pandemic, says UCC General Minister and President John Dorhauer in this video invitation: “If the last two years have taught us anything, it’s that community is vital to how we as humans interact and how we have to begin to envision how we want the church of the future to look.”
