Action Alerts: Help Us Make Meaningful Change

Tell Congress to Protect the Sacred Right to Vote

The Supreme Court ruled to limit Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which has long served as the primary tool for challenging racially discriminatory voting maps. The ruling makes it harder for voters in Black and brown majority districts to challenge unfair district lines, clearing the way for maps that dilute their political voice. Ask your members of Congress to pass the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.

Tell Congress: Dignity for Detained Immigrants

Conditions in detention centers are dire: fluorescent lights shine around the clock, there is rotten, spoiled food for meals, dirty drinking water, a lack of access to necessary medical care, and multiple reports of physical and sexual violence against detainees. Ask your members of Congress to improve living conditions in detention centers and provide oversight.

Tell Congress to End the Death Penalty

The death penalty is rife with racial disparities, wrongful convictions, inadequate legal representation, and arbitrary application. Innocent people have been exonerated after spending years on death row, revealing the ever-present risk of executing someone for a crime they did not commit. Ask your members of Congress to end the use of capital punishment and the death penalty at the federal level.

Racial Justice Ministries

The United Church of Christ invites you to participate in Racial Justice Ministries antibias and antiracism initiatives and restorative racial justice practices. Together, we can advocate for all people to live without acts of violence or structures and systems that harm God’s human creation.
