A Grand Slam Gift for the new GMP

Colleagues in the UCC national offices assembled in Amistad Chapel UCC during the weekly Wednesday worship service Sept. 2 for a get-to-know-you gathering, welcoming new employees, including the denomination’s new General Minister and President John C. Dorhauer, to 700 Prospect. The group had a gift for the new GMP, as “coach” of the national staff, and in turn, learned a bit about Rev. Dorhauer’s love of the church, love of baseball, his fondness for the number “42” – and why the number “42” is linked in his mind to the UCC commitment to justice and peace.
