God caused the birds to fall within our ancestors’ camp and all around their tents. The people ate their fill. God gave them what they craved. – Psalm 78:28-29 (NLT)
Given the marked increases in demand for home delivery services, the need for accurate addresses to ensure proper delivery has elevated. Is it Armstrong Plaza or Armstrong Place? Is that Northwest or Northeast? If this is an apartment, we’ll need the unit number. Don’t forget to include the zip code.
When God got ready to feed the hungry and disgruntled Children of Israel on their fateful journey through the desolation of the Sinai Desert, God new exactly where to find them. Swarms of quail flew directly to their location. But not just their general location … their exact location.
God’s delivery of quail to feed God’s children was so precise that, when the Israelites looked around, they found poultry delights present within their very encampment, even just outside their very tents. God not only fed them, God satiated their hunger with the very thing that they craved.
We often wake up and feel compelled to join the hunt for the desires of our hearts. The general assumption is that what we really want is somewhere out there … beyond our immediate grasp … outside the perimeters of our specific space … beyond the reach of our familiar.
But if God’s goodness is boundless and if God’s deliverance is unrestricted, perhaps the next time we wake up assuming that what we want and need could never be nearby, maybe we should take the time to look around and see what God has dispatched to our very doorstep. Special delivery.
