Loving God, you know the chaos and confusion of my aching (post-post-) modern heart. This moment has set me and many of us a-swirl – anxious and distracted and wondering if our prayers are even coherent. In times like these, I thank you, God, for reminding me of ancient words, so I can pray with confidence and gratitude:

Lord, have mercy…
Come, Holy Spirit…
Heaven and Earth are full of thy glory…
Create in me a clean heart…
Hear our prayer.
