Living Psalm 29

Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
Living Psalm 29_Dilley
No god is like our God,
Full of power and worthy of all praise and glory!
Put respect on the name of our God,
Give blessing and honor to the full splendor of The One Who Is.
The voice of God is in the persistent rain that falls,
Drop by drop by drop into the earth.
The voice of God is full of melody,
The voice of God is bold and resonant like a timpani.
The voice of God shatters our pretensions of permanence, especially the illusions of tyrants.
In the present of God even the mighty seem foolish and silly, preening as if God cares.
But the voice of God shakes us from complacency.
The voice of God remakes the world,
Yes, God sings a new song of creation!
The voice of God shatters the silence, turns every ear to listen,
And in the holy places everyone sings, “Hallelujah!”
Our God is full of splendor and song,
Our God is full of every good thing.
Let our God give a new song to all people,
Let our God bless all people with peace!
