Women’s Faith Formation
For generations in the UCC (and its predecessors), women have nurtured their faith through study, fellowship, and activism. Often as a practice of faith, women share their stories as a way to discern God’s wisdom and share God’s love:
Hope in Disarray: Piecing Our Lives Together in Faith (Grace Ji-Sun Kim) is a personal call to compassionate living and an invitation to conversations on identity.
Jesus and Those Bodacious Women: Life Lessons from One Sister to Another (Linda H. Hollies) is a classic Hollies book, with fresh and poignant reflections on (in)famous biblical women.
Sistering: The Art of Holding Close and Letting Go (Jessica Dickey and Danielle Neff) is a “love letter to the magic of knowing and being known,” as two sisters reflect on supporting one another.
Who Told You That You Were Naked? Meditations on the Sexual Body (Beverly Dale) is packed with biblically grounded, tangibly liberating meditations.
Dancing through Fire: Daily Poems of Wisdom, Passion, and Peace (Tina Datsko de Sanchez) inspires the reader with poetry that brings the spirit to life.
The Words of Her Mouth: Psalms for the Struggle (Martha Spong) brings together a diversity of women’s voices with its collection of 150 original psalms.
