Texas – Williamson County Recovery
Volunteers are urgently needed for Williamson County, which suffered flooding and tornados on Memorial Day weekend of 2015. UCC Disaster Ministries is seeking volunteer teams to assist with repair and reconstruction of homes impacted by these disasters.
The work is being done in collaboration with the Williamson County Long-Term Recovery Committee, whose mission is to “address the disaster recovery needs of individuals and families affected by the Memorial Day Flood of 2015 in an effort to provide a safe, secure, sanitary, and functional dwelling when available government and social agency funding is exhausted while needs remain.”

Work needed: Repair/Rebuild homes damaged by recent disasters. Work may consist of but is not limited to roofing,
drywall, insulation, painting, framing, siding, flooring etc.
Site management: Site and construction management is being provided by UCC Disaster Ministries in partnership with local
recovery agencies.
Time Frame: Arrive Sunday afternoon and depart Saturday morning. Work Monday – Friday.
Minimum Age: 16 years (senior high age groups accepted).
Adult to Youth Ratio: 1:4
Maximum Group Size: 15
Accommodations: Various churches in town. Church used depends on size of group. Showers are available at the field house, as the churches do not have showers.
Required: Insurance certificate from the sending church and the following waiver forms: Volunteer Liability and Parental Consent (if under 18 years old)
Tools: Tools are provided for most types of carpentry work however, groups are encouraged to bring their favorite tools.
Cost: Please consider $10 per day per person to help offset the cost of the host church utilities. Donations to help cover the cost of materials are welcome.
Meals: Groups will be expected to purchase and prepare their own meals.
