Loving God,

As we hear the news of the Middle East, our hearts ache for the people, from both sides. The conflict has accelerated with many innocent victims left dead or injured. Too little of everything, food, medicine, housing;, compassion and listening and to much fear, long standing positions that are based on prejudice and hate.

Hear our prayer O God, that leaders might emerge who will seek solutions instead of revenge. We pray that peace may find a home in their hearts. Amen
