On Capitol Hill: The UCC’s Witness

Recently, I had the blessing of visiting our Public Policy & Advocacy Team in Washington, D.C., one of the teams I am honored to support as Acting AGM. What tremendous work they are doing on our behalf! Through public witness, organizing, and relentless advocacy they are bringing our values and our faith to the halls of power.

Watch today’s vlog to hear my conversation with Rev. Mike Neuroth, Director of our UCC office on Capitol Hill. Listen as he reflects on what it’s like to do this valuable work in this particular season, and what you can do to be part of it. We CAN make a difference!

The Reverend Shari Prestemon began her service with the national ministries of the United Church of Christ in January 2024. As the Acting Associate General Minister & Co-Executive for Global Ministries she has the privilege of supporting several teams: Global MinistriesGlobal H.O.P.E.Public Policy & Advocacy Team (Washington, D.C.), & our staff representative at the United Nations. She previously served as a local church pastor in Illinois and Wisconsin, the Executive Director at Back Bay Mission in Biloxi, Mississippi, and the Minnesota Conference Minister. Her call to ministry grew, in part, from early Global Ministries experiences, especially service as a Peace & Justice Intern in Dumaguete City, the Philippines.
