We have new COM members, there is so much for them to learn, we could use some help with orientation! Our COM is struggling to work well together – what might a group covenant look like to guide our interactions? Our COM members come with a variety of backgrounds and understandings about diversity – are there some resources to support our learning so that we can justly serve all the people who come before us?

Committees on Ministry do a lot. And to do a lot and do it faithfully and skillfully, COMs need robust support and resources so that each discernment process, each prayerful decision, each opportunity to offer support and accountability, is done ethically with best practices by a team that is committed, prepared and faithful to the mission and witness of the United Church of Christ. A big part of what we do as the MESA Team is to listen carefully to the needs expressed and respond with the kinds of support and resources that empower COMs to be their very best. The Committee on Ministry Resource Library is a new website developed by the MESA Team as a source of sources to support COMs in three areas: resources for new COM members, creating a more hospitable COM, and resources for healthy COMs. Check out the new page here and stay tuned for new resources as they are uploaded to the page.
