Optional dining events available at General Synod 2015
A chance to reconnect with old friends and a chance to make new ones. That’s what awaits visitors and delegates at the optional dining events at the United Church of Christ’s 30th General Synod this summer.
There are 23 optional dining events, previously referred to as sponsored meals, most of which take place onsite at the Cleveland Convention Center, during General Synod 2015 from June 26 to 30. The luncheons and dinners are usually a time to gather and network with friends and colleagues.
“These meals, we used to call them Sponsored Meals, are one of the favorite ways for people from across the church to meet and greet old friends from past Synods,” said Lee Foley, UCC Chief Administrative Officer and General Synod Administrator. “Even with almost two dozen optional dining events over four days, we’re encouraging people to get registered for them early since they will sell out quickly. They are just a real popular part of Synod.”
There are meals hosted by a range of settings and ministries throughout the church, from seminaries of the UCC to historically underrepresented groups, taking place each day.
