Love Knows No Borders: Conference Minister Witness October 2025

Join us in person or via livestream on October 29th, as Conference Ministers from across the United Church of Christ will convene in our nation’s capital to bear witness to truth and justice.

We proclaim the truth of the sacred stories and identities being violently attacked and disappeared by our own government. We seek justice with and for every neighbor and every community oppressed by the fear and greed of an unholy movement fueled by white supremacy and Christian nationalism. Alone, we are being overwhelmed by an unceasing flood of hatred. Together, we will resist the tide of tyranny, united in the love of Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Love Knows No Borders Campaign Homepage

Write a message to your members of Congress urging them to choose love, compassion, and justice in their decisions. Share your faith values and lift up issues such as immigration justice, LGBTQ+ rights, peacebuilding, and care for our communities.  

Once written, follow the instructions provided by your conference minister to return the postcard. UCC Conference Ministers will be delivering all postcards in person in Washington D.C. at a public witness October 28, 2025. Alternatively, you can submit a letter directly to your representatives using our online advocacy portal.  

Our voices are stronger when we share the real stories of how immigration policies affect our families, congregations, and neighborhoods. We invite you to share your story—or the story of a loved one, friend, or community member—about experiences with immigration. This could be:

In addition to postcards, children, youth, and adults are invited to join in a creative witness of love. Together, these butterflies will show that God’s love is for all people, crossing every border and boundary. Here’s how to take part: 

1) Reflect on why you love your neighbor — whether that’s a friend, classmate, community member, or someone you’ve never met but who shares God’s world with you. 

2) Write your response inside the butterfly and decorate it with color, drawings, or symbols of love and hope. 

3) Once written, follow the instructions provided by your conference minister to return the postcard. They will share these beautiful creations with members on Capitol Hill.

Another way to join the Love Knows No Borders campaign is by writing a heartfelt letter to your Members of Congress. Letters allow you to share more deeply about your faith values and why love, justice, and compassion matter in public policy. Here’s how to take part: 

1) Write an individual letter or gather as a congregation to craft one together. Share your concerns on issues such as immigration justice, LGBTQ+ rights, peacebuilding, care for creation, or the protection of vulnerable communities. If you need guidance drafting, feel free to use our provided template to help draft an effective letter.  

2) If writing as a congregation, invite members to add their signatures so your letter represents the collective witness of your church. 

Each letter is a powerful testimony of faith in action, reminding our leaders that love knows no borders and that God’s people are called to seek justice and peace.
