May 2017

Dear Committee on Ministry colleagues,

The MESA Team is dedicated to supporting your essential work of ministerial authorization and oversight through regular 90-minute trainings offered online via the Zoom platform:

  • On Monday, May 22 at 7:00pm eastern, strengthen your understanding of Ministerial Standing – from the distinctions between Dual Standing and Privilege of Call processes to best practices for Leave of Absence and more.
  • On Wednesday, May 24 at 7:00pm eastern, work with Stephen Boyd on the expectations of Committees on Ministry in receiving applications for Ecclesiastical Endorsement.
  • On Monday, June 5 at 2:00pm eastern, join a conversation about the practicalities of shifting your Committee on Ministry’s use of the 1986 Manual on Ministry to the 2017 drafted Manual on Ministry (and future iterations).

Each training is hosted by a member of the MESA Team, with space on Zoom for up to 50 participants. No registration is required; simply scroll through the list of online trainings posted at http://www.ucc.org/ministers_committees-on-ministry and click on the title of the training you want to attend at the time it is scheduled to start.

Additional trainings in 2017 cover topics such as the Member in Discernment Process, Three- and Four-Way Covenants, Equipping Committees on Ministry for Diversity, and many more. Find the full list at http://www.ucc.org/ministers_committees-on-ministry.

See you online!
