The UCC Wants Your Story of Welcome

The United Church of Christ is a church of extravagant welcome, and like many congregants who have already found a home with the UCC, somewhere out there, someone else is searching for a sign that they belong–looking for a place where they’ll feel more welcome than they ever have before.  More often than not, that sign comes in the form of a story. This is why we are reaching out and asking you to tell your story of welcome.

We are asking congregants to tell the story of showing up exactly as you were–with no expectations, no judgement, just welcome.  It could be the story of someone remembering your name after one visit, and how that small thing shifted everything.  The story that helped you realize that the UCC is more than a church, it’s a community, and it’s a place where you belong.

As we near our 70th anniversary, we are gathering stories of welcome, and we would love to hear yours. If you’d like, you can write and read from a script, or just tell your story directly from the heart. Click on the link below, and you will be asked to fill in some information, accept the terms of the submission, and then share your story. We will use it to share out on our social media. (The use of music isn’t accepted because of copyright permissions.) There will be several prompts, and you can record your answers right at your computer.

We hope that many will share stories here. Thank you for your participation!
