Holy God, we are struggling. As we search for Your presence, we feel as though we’re climbing a hill of sand. We’re exhausted with our lack of progress, for no matter how hard we dig, the sand fills in. Whenever we think things couldn’t get any worse, we are shocked over and over again by the injustice and cruelty that surrounds us. God, give us a foothold. Make sure we plant our feet on Your firm foundation. Reach down, grab our hands with Yours, forcing us to look up with confidence and hope. Let that sand fall away, and place us on top of the hill. Let us be a beacon of hope to others. AMEN
