Living Psalm 80:1-2, 8-19

Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
Let Us Be Saved
Let us be saved, Sweet God
who moves through the wind
and carries us the cries
of hungry babes.
Lend us your strength,
Fiery Voice of Heaven;
Ignite us like dry brush
burning for justice.
Reveal to us, Majestic Gardener,
the paths that you have laid,
that we might dig our hands deep
in the dirt and clear away every weed
choking the life from your tender growth.
Let us be saved, Enduring God,
from the fear that leaves us cold
when we see the children fall
again at our feet.
Lend us your strength,
Inferno of paradise;
let the fight in us not sputter and die
in the face of daily carnage.
Reveal in us, Beloved Shepherd,
your glorious Love;
let it overflow our frail frames
and run through the streets
until we are bathed in grace,
stirred to see each and every face
as a member of Your cherished flock.
Let us be saved, Sweet God,
who moves through the wind,
always at our backs , always
a whisper of radical peace.
