Dear Jesus, we pray for those who have suffered more we can imagine, who come to our nation hoping for our people to care and relieve that suffering, only to have more suffering piled upon them, even as they are reaching out for help. In growing numbers, we gather hoping to provide that caring and that help because we have experienced your compassionate ways, O God and want to be like you. Help us find a way to reach across the barriers being built to bring these strong and resilient people home to our communities where they can start healing and bringing vibrancy to the places we live.
