Dearest God who has brought all things into being through your Light,
we pray that peace will blossom
in the hearts of everyone who is afraid,
May those blooms infuse every circumstance
with the the fragrance of Christ —
the fragrance of improbable, mysterious triumph.

We pray that peace will descend
like tongues of fire in our hearts
and in the hearts of our leaders.
Transform our hearts until they glow
so hot that masks of deception and denial
fall away, leaving the clarity and courage we need
to follow the ways of Christ’s peace. Amen.
