General Synod resolution advocates for tax fairness July 2, 2013
The United Church of Christ has frequently called for a system of taxation that is fair and just. General Synod 29, meeting this week in Long Beach, Calif., added its voice by calling for a tax system that addresses current flaws in order to make taxation “fair, adequate and equitable.”
UCC's 'Faith,In Project' promoted as bottom-up community development July 2, 2013

Synod votes to resist actions seeking to undermine the status of women July 2, 2013
By an overwhelming majority, delegates to General Synod 2013 approved the amended resolution, “Resisting Actions Seeking to Undermine the Status of Women in Society.” Responding to a wide range of legislative initiatives threatening women’s free access to health care, equal pay, and reproductive choice, the measure calls upon the bodies of the United Church of Christ to “publicly address and challenge policies, ideologies, and theologies that promote the inferiority and subjugation of women.”

Delegates to the United Church of Christ General Synod have several pieces of business to consider as they meet this week in Long Beach, Calif. For the Rev. Rita Nakashima Brock and the Rev. Moving forward, UCC settings will broaden an ecumenical relationship with the United Church of Canada, extend an extravagant welcome to all war veterans and their families, and further a dialogue to examine redrawing UCC conference boundaries.
