Webinar: Legal considerations for faith communities with questions about sanctuary for the new year
The new year means new laws and regulations for faith communities serving asylum seekers.
The United Church of Christ Insurance Board is offering a webinar on Sanctuary: Legal Considerations of Faith Communities featuring UCC General Counsel Heather Kimmel. It takes place January 16 at 2 p.m. ET

This webinar will help to answer questions congregations may have about what is to come in 2025 with a change in administration in Washington, D.C.
Kimmel said this is an important conversation.
“Faith communities engaged in immigrant-serving ministries, including churches that serve asylum seekers and refugees, are concerned about the changes in immigration policy coming with the new executive administration. We are still in a state of uncertainty. It’s important to be reminded of the risks and best practices so that churches can continue to serve these vulnerable members of our communities.”
Registration is open now and is limited. A recording will be available after the event.
