UCC Mission/Service Opportunities

Volunteer Ministries in the past has published a Mission/Service Trip Opportunities listing that, though not comprehensive, has served as a resource for finding organizations and ministries that welcome groups and engage in work that aligns with UCC values.  With post-COVID changes, some previously listed organizations no longer host groups.  We recommend checking this site often as we continue to add and update opportunities and related details.

Below is a searchable map of volunteer trip opportunities with diverse locations, organizations, missions and focus areas.

Faith-based group trips have been a tradition among churches, wider church settings and other groups in the United Church of Christ.  These trips might be referred to as mission, immersion, or service trips, workcamps or other names. Groups of all ages and configurations participate in trips, and they may serve in the next town over or several states away.

They provide people with opportunities to work with organizations and community projects in service and/or justice-related work.  Participants also find that their trips deepen their faith, inform them about the integration of service and justice in community work, introduce them to new people, places and cultures, and foster deeper bonds with fellow travelers.
