New website for UCC resolutions archive launches
A new website housing each and every resolution passed by the United Church of Christ’s General Synod is now live.
The site is uccresolutions.org. Although resolutions have previously been available in digital archives of General Synod minutes and indexes of them have been kept, the new site streamlines the collection to make all of them much easier to find. It also includes an updated search function, searchable by year or keyword.
The archive includes every one of the 980 resolutions the UCC has proclaimed since 1957.
“We hope that this searchable archive of resolutions will educate and inspire the United Church of Christ,” said Heather Kimmel, UCC general counsel, who helped guide the process of updating and creating this resource.
Cindy Gaffney, UCC paralegal, devoted countless hours researching, organizing, scanning and uploading past resolutions to bring this project to fruition. Gaffney said that it was an honor to work on the project and that she learned a lot about the history of the UCC while doing it.
