Prayer from Elizabeth Warren

Interfaith Day of Prayer

May 7, 2020

Dear Lord,

As we face this time of unprecedented crisis, we look to you for protection and guidance. Give us the grace to lean on your divine wisdom and the courage to stand in the gap for the most vulnerable among us.

Please comfort every family and community who has lost someone to this outbreak, and grant the essential workers fighting on the front lines the grace they need to endure this storm. Renew their minds, encourage their hearts and let them know that this too shall pass.

Psalms 46:1 tells us that You are a present help in the time of trouble, so we know that we are not alone. Teach us how to rely on one another and see each other’s fights as our own. We may never understand why we have been called to this moment, but today we look to you to find purpose from this pain and draw us closer to one another day by day.

In Your Name We Pray.
