Music helps words soar above the everyday. Words help music sink deeply into our spirits. And there is no one version of the music and words that can be defined as “traditional.”
Many of us are understandably panicked about climate chaos. The earth has been torn asunder, violently shaken, utterly broken. But God can fix what is broken, with enough time.
God is not just big, but big-big! Big-big enough to not be swayed by privilege. Big-big enough to fairly treat parentless children. Big-big enough for all to have what they need.
I don’t know if God is still good. I suspect God’s righteousness is tarnished. But we’re called to keep searching for goodness—and for one another—through the fire and brimstone.
Take a moment today to give thanks for your heroes in faith. Take another moment to recall the twists and turns in your own journey, and how grace keeps pulling you forward.

'Silence is golden,' but following God isn’t about silencing. It’s about listening. It’s about considering Something More Important. It’s about honoring the roar of God’s voice.
Sometimes our not doing allows something to be done for us and in us that is far more wonderful than we might accomplish on our own through our striving and worry.
As a white person, I carry privilege all the time. Privilege of which I am not even aware. Privilege that just makes me want more privilege. It’s past time to check that baggage.
