Call These Senators Now
Now is the time to contact family and friends with an opportunity to make an important difference. Whether one cares about clean energy tax credits, Medicaid, and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), there are a host of reasons to be morally outraged at the cuts included in the reconciliation bill being pushed forward in the Senate. We have identified 26 Senators in 19 states who should be urged to reject the reconciliation bill and publicly declare now that they will be voting against it. The states are North Dakota, West Virginia, Alaska, Utah, Kansas, North Carolina, Maine, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, Kentucky, Nebraska, Florida, Indiana, Idaho, Arkansas, Iowa, and Louisiana. My name is ______________, and I’m a constituent from ______________. As a person of faith, I’m morally outraged at the proposals being made in the Senate for the reconciliation bill. Whether it is slashing Medicaid or making cuts to SNAP, there are countless reasons to be upset with what is happening. I am personally concerned with clean energy tax credits which have helped churches as well as people across the country to lower their utility bills. We do not need the chaos and harm of what is being pushed forward in the Senate. I urge Sen. ______________ to reject this bill and publicly declare now that he/she will be voting against it.
