Psalm 107:1-7, 33-37
Thanksgiving for Deliverance from Many Troubles

The waves of life may crash upon us, we feel like we’re drowning. Then we wonder –where is God? In the midst of what we do not expect or understand, let us still dare to pause. Since we know that Dios (God) is better than good, and that the Holy One’s love endures forever no matter the storms of life, let us be renewed, restored and transformed by God’s grace. We have been and always will be redeemed from troubles and gathered as one People of God in many lands. We come from diverse places – east, west, north, and south. Some us have wandered, and some still are, in desert wastes. We look for escape. We cannot find an inhabited town. Thirsty and hungry we plead for the water of life and substance for our bodies and souls. Together we have cried, and some still cry, even from the silence of their lives, yet we know that when we were in trouble Sophia (Wisdom) delivered us from troubled times and cleansed our distress.
When we stray the Sacred one of Israel turns rivers into a desert and springs of water into thirsty ground. The abundance of fruitful land is diminished, and salty waste consumes the land. The wickedness of people leads to death and destruction. Yet there is hope for God is always ready to embrace us gently and warmly in spite of our human frailty. With love deserts and parched land become pools of water and hope. Well springs provide nourishment to our lands and souls and there the hungry are fed and establish communities where they work the land, plant vineyards in the fields until the yield become abundance. Plentiful and fruitful harvest is the one that provides for the needs for all.
