Living Psalm 103 (Faith Formation Sunday) Davies

Thank you, God, for how You hold me, through it all.
Thank God, with my WHOLE soul, who loves me, even still.
Bless the Lord oh my Soul, who keeps me hopeful, like a child.

You’ve been showing up for all people, all generations.
You’ve been encouraging us to disciple each other, with the tools of each Age.
You haven’t held onto the ways we’ve messed up… Thanks for that.

Because when I look back, God, I’m ashamed of us. Humans.
Doing this thing, again, and again, and again: hurting each other,
Hoarding power, resources, extracting from all Your creation.

But Holy One, you love us still. Hope for us, still. Hold Joy for us, still.
Because You are High above us in hope, joy, and so much love.
You hold us with gentleness; Just as we do our own children.

Soon, we’ll be gone from this world, but your hope for our Children prevails.
May we teach them the redeeming factors of our humanity, even when we can’t experience them.
May we hold the hope that they will carry on the covenants of old, and practice right relationships.

Because, you, God, are good.
O Bless the Lord my soul.
O Bless God’s holy name, and God’s Hope for our World.
