The UCC produced “An American Christmas” starring late actress Hayden Panettiere
Hayden Panettiere, a decorated actress, author, producer, and model died on Sunday, August 16 at the age of 36 in Greenville, South Carolina. Tributes have been pouring in from co-workers, and other stars after the news of her passing became public.
Panettiere began her career as a child star, with a long stint in both television and film, and she is being remembered for her roles as Claire Bennet on the hit series ‘Heroes,’ as well as Juliette Barnes in the musical drama ‘Nashville.’

Early in her career however, Panettiere had a starring role in a film that was produced by the United Church of Christ. “An American Christmas” was set in the context of preparing for a children’s pageant, and explored the diverse ways the season is celebrated. Panettiere was 10 at the time of the filming. The UCC news team is working to gather more information about the movie, which also starred actor Joe Morton, including access to the full version to share at a later date.
