UCC General Minister and President shares message about Nuclear Prayer Week

A special video message from United Church of Christ General Minister and President Rev. Karen Georgia Thompson was released to commemorate the atomic bombings for Hiroshima and Nagasaki 81 years ago. The message encouraged people from around the world to unite and pray for the abolition of nuclear weapons.

“Our future is shaped by the choices we make, the values we hold closest, and the courage to act together against nuclear weapons and war,” said Thompson. “May these days of prayer strengthen our resolve, deepen our understanding, and inspire us to create a more peaceful and compassionate world.”
