Living Psalm 89:1-4, 15-18 – Open and Affirming Sunday

Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
…I’m going to keep on dancing for the Joy of Most High,
I’m going to keep on singing with my mouth open wide,
I’m going to keep on moving for the
Love of our God, Love of our God.
I have …made a covenant
I have sworn we’d all be held in lovely sacrament,
Right near,
David; Jonathan,
lovers in the back light room and nothing here that’s sin,
I thank those who came before,
I hear them calling me,
bless-ed harmonica, joyful tamborine;
I’ll make my God so proud, it’s going to cause a scene
She sees her darling kin, I know she’ll say: yes QUEEN,
God, what have we done?
we’re here and we’re proud
and you know that we’ve won when,
Mama, Oh! We’re bright as the Son,
each night at the club, it’s where we belong,
down at the
Church of Welcome!
we’re gonna keep on worshipping with all who are here
welcoming those from a far and now right here
bringing the gifts and skills and offerings Queer,
yes we’re right here….
(Selah.)
