Living Psalm – Luke 1:46B-55

Living Psalms Book
Psalms in the form of words and art, reborn in the specific contexts of our world, privileging the voices of historically marginalized communities and those acting in solidarity with them.
Living Psalm – Luke 1:46b-55
Mary the mother of Jesus sang with all of her heart,
“My soul shines on God our Creator,
and my spirit celebrates God our Redeemer.
For our God looks upon all us with unconditional love-
knowing that we are designed in the image of the Divine.
Holy is the name of the One who walks with me on my journey,
who paints opportunities and designs landscapes of justice.
Holy Mercy reaches beyond generations and eras
building strength that fills our spirits with hope.
For it is our God that flips the world on its head
and allows us to see Creation in new ways.
Powerful ones will inherit humility,
and humble ones will find a growing strength in their souls.
Our siblings will begin to understand the grace of God,
for Divine wisdom will invigorate our aching, exhausted hearts.
“Beloved-
Do you sense the winds redirecting?
There is something new dancing in the breeze!
Our neighbors who hunger will experience fullness.
Mercy spreads across our land.
From the depths of our spirit, we know the movement,
we begin to understand God’s dreams for our world.
There will be eternal celebrations,
Knowing that God’s grace has spanned the centuries
And blessed our ancestors and descendants forever.”
