God of mystery and presence:

We are distressed by the state of our nation and world. In this Lenten season we enter a time of introspection and resistance. We have fallen short of building the beloved community in big and small ways. The principalities and powers are flexing their muscles and we are reminded of our call to stand firm in our faith and to work for justice, love and compassion. Calm our fears, strengthen our resolve to work for justice and unite us in your love which has no end. Amen.
