Welcome to the Women's Page

Women's ministry in the national setting of the United Church of Christ celebrates women in all their diversity. We cherish and work to be advocates on behalf of all women, lay and clergy, the young and the not as young! We see our task as a sharing one: sharing the incredible strengths and resources found in United Church of Christ women so that we may better be about carrying out God's ministry and mission in the world.

We give thanks that women's ministries is a partnership with each of you. Part of the partnership is hearing from you, through e-mail, regular mail or your responses to our focus inquiry questionnaire. Women are wonderfully creative and we are certain that a great deal is happening in your Conferences, Associations and local churches that would be of interest to other women and we invite you to share that information with us.

The UCC Women's Endowment Fund was created to provide for leadership development opportunities in the programs related to women over and above what basic support provides.

Making a gift to this will help assure funds for programming of vital importance to women now and in the future.

Each year UCCWM picks a theme related to women – economic justice, healthcare, etc and local churches wishing to start programs related to that theme can apply for a grass roots grant of up to $500. It must have matching money from two other places (at least) local church, association, community organizations, etc. A year-end report back form is required inemizing how the money was used, whether the project was a success and will it be ongoing.

The Victims Assistance Fund is an opportunity for familes, with conference support, to receive up to $500 toward counseling for actions related to sexual misconduct in a local church.
