Heifer International Learning Center at Heifer Ranch focuses on providing education experiences. Each program introduces participants to the idea that one person can make a difference in ending hunger and poverty.
Project/Focus: : Programs are primarily educational and several of the available programs also include service projects such as gardening, composting, tending livestock and maintaining ranch facilities.
Educational/Advocacy Components: Education components vary per program and may include an overnight experience in the Global Village, Challenge Course activities and hands-on activities illustrate Heifer’s cornerstones.
Time: Programs are offered year-round, extra nights and day activities can be added to extend any of the following programs.
Global Gateway (1 night)
Global Challenge (2 nights)
Global Gateway Extended (2 nights)
Alternative Break (5 nights)
Women’s Lambing (March 11-13, March 17-20)
Group Size: No minimum group size to book a program, but minimum group charge will be 12 participants.
Minimum Age: Youth must be fifth graders or older to participate in overnight programming. Adult chaperons must be over 18 years of age.
Adult to Youth Ratio: 1:5 is recommended
Accommodations: Programs primarily take place outdoors. All programs require a good amount of walking. Lodges available and include bath, common areas, kitchenette and disabled accessibility.
Cost: Tuition fees vary per program and include programming, lodging and meals.
