The Association of Religion Data Archives (ARDA)

(ARDA) “strives to democratize access to the best data on religion” by collecting and storing data from religious researchers. Funded by the Lilly Endowment and based in the Pennsylvania State University, Department of Sociology.

UCC ARDA Page

The Association of Religion Data Archives has created a United Church of Christ-specific landing page that provides a variety of data on the UCC, including trends in membership, clergy, and congregations; access to UCC-related surveys; and historical information about the UCC. The page also offers GIS maps you can customize to create a demographic profile of your neighborhood or community.

The Louisville Institute

Based in the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary the institute offers grants, fellowships, and collaborative religious resources for projects. Promotes pastoral leadership education and scholarly research in order to study issues facing the church today.

Pew Research Center’s Religion & Public Life Project

A fact tank which provides an array of information and “seeks to promote a deeper understanding of issues at the intersection of religion and public affairs”. Based in Washington, DC.

Lilly Endowment, Inc.

A private philanthropic foundation that supports programs, initiatives, and research to sustain American Christian churches and ministry. Based in Indianapolis, IN.

Religious Research Association (RRA)

“Academic and religious professionals working at the intersection of research and practical religious activities”. With over 600 members the association promotes social scientific study, networking via annual meetings, and a place to present research findings.

Association of Statisticians of American Religious Bodies (ASARB)

A group of religious statisticians who meet annually in order to share knowledge, improve their own methods, and compare statistics.

Religion Census: Religious Congregations & Membership Study (RCMS)

Provides a collection of county-level data from participating religious bodies nationwide.
