Toward A Fundamental Change in Nuclear Weapons Policy

United Church of Christ, Justice and Witness Ministries is proud to cosponsor the upcoming conference, "Toward a Fundamental Change in Nuclear Weapons Policy," on Thursday, April 27. This all-day conference brings together nuclear policy experts, scientists, youth faith leaders, and disarmament activists to grapple with emerging challenges in nuclear weapons policy. In light of growing nuclear dangers and the ongoing negotiations on the U.N. Nuclear Weapons Ban Treaty, speakers will discuss the role of the U.S. in global disarmament efforts.

Conference speakers include Hiroshima atomic bomb survivor, Setsuko Thurlow, Co-Director of the Project on Peace and Security in South Asia at the Woodrow Wilson School, Zia Mian, Global Zero Co-Founder, Bruce Blair, Arms Control Association Executive Director, Daryl G. Kimball, Reaching Critical Will Director, Ray Acheson, and International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War Co-President Ira Helfand, MD.
