The Rev. Traci Blackmon is one of several faith leaders who put their bodies on the line for love of neighbors, their health care and for the sake of justice Thursday morning at the Capitol. The national officer, Executive Minister of the United Church of Christ Justice and Witness Ministries was arrested alongside Moral Movement leader the Rev. William Barber and the Rev. Jennifer Butler from Faith in Public Life, as they, other clergy and dozens of supporters marched against pending healthcare reform that proposes to deny coverage to 22 million people.

UCC one of five Christian denominations opposing any change to Bears Ears National Monument

In a letter dated July 10, the final day of a 45-day review process ordered by President Trump calling on the Department of Interior to "review" national monuments established since 1996 and assess whether they should be reduced or eliminated, the religious leaders of Episcopal, Lutheran, Mennonite, Presbyterian, and United Church of Christ denominations sent a letter to Secretary Ryan Zinke urging him to "reverse course, and listen to the Bears Ears Commission and to the thousands of supporters for the Bears Ears Monument."

Wisconsin Conference extends a welcome to Milwaukee for General Synod 2019

General Synod 2017 came to a close Tuesday afternoon in Baltimore after five days of discernment, deliberation and devotion. The torch of hospitality passed from the Central Atlantic Conference to the Wisconsin Conference, which hosts General Synod 2019 in Milwaukee.
