SUMMARY:Reshaping Narratives & Decolonizing the Christian Church
DESCRIPTION:Racial Justice Ministries and Worship and Theology Ministries invite you to develop biblical and theological lessons and spiritual practices to strengthen the Christian Church. Join us as we learn from a racial justice academic\, author\, activist\, and biblical scholar\, the Rev. Dr. Curtiss De Young\, and Rev. Dr. Cheryl Lindsay\, UCC Minister for Worship and Theology and spiritual practitioner. \nChristian extremism is not theological. Supremacists’ ideology is not biblical. The Doctrine of Discovery is not Christian\, and Domination over human beings is not of God. Culture-centered faith practices within Christian congregations transform attitudes\, behaviors\, assumptions\, and stereotypes\, which in turn transform people towards culture-centered practices of racial equity\, belonging\, and justice for all.
