DESCRIPTION:In most cases\, anger and fear are the emotions most readily associated with Christian Nationalism and other forms of political extremism. Rev. Dr. Tanya Jeffcoat\, however\, will examine the ways in which unresolved grief often plays an underlying role in drawing people to extremist positions. After exploring several expressions of unresolved grief\, she will offer potential approaches for addressing grief and building communities that offer opportunities to heal from the divisions we face.

Kelly Hansen\, Conference Disaster Response Coordinator for the Kansas-Oklahoma Conference United Church of Christ\, and John Etter\, a member of Central St. Matthew United Church of Christ in New Orleans\, LA\, who will discuss their experiences with disaster preparedness.
