Do we attract folks when we use modern vernacular in the life of faith? Or is that taking the Lord’s name in vain? Are we against cursing or are we against people being damned?


We are rapidly learning new languages—and it is not always easy. I personally don’t speak Facebook or Instagram. It’s a good thing God is still speaking while we are all finding our way.


A hardened heart is arteriosclerosis of the spirit, the refusal to feel anymore. Hanging on to the ability to care, the ability to feel, the ability to hurt is not for babies.


We need to wonder what the old U.S. self has to say to the new U.S. self, and what it might finally look like to "put off" the old self.
