Unannoyed

I bet there's somebody in your church whose way of pointing to God embarrasses you. You cringe when every time; you long for them to stop. But maybe God likes their way of praising.

Bread

Each of us needs something to hold or hug or wave so we remember the people and places we love, so we remember the reasons we march and keep vigil.

The Happiest Place on Earth

The church is not perfect. Our messes are often on grand display. But there's something about the sweaty realness of Here that is preparation for There—for God's envisioned kin-dom.

Missing Out

No matter how bad things are now, missing their natural progression can be even worse. God, grant us the gift of one step after the other.

Down with Chaos!

God of majesty and might, bring order to chaos, understanding to confusion, and your sweet peace to every place of disruption.

A Revelation Revisited

We do not need a structure and a steeple to be the Church today. We are the embodiment of God's purpose, promise and power at work in the world.

New

God's capacity to make all things new—especially when all our hope is gone and our own resources are spent—is the heart of the gospel. "Impossible" is where this God begins.

Selling Purple Cloth…for Jesus

I've learned that the passionate voice inside me (which can sometimes sound like an arrogant twerp) is rarely calling others to greater faithfulness. It's calling me.

Noticed

When I don't fit in with the crowd, or I can't see my way clear, I try to get a better view of Jesus. If Jesus noticed Zacchaeus, surely he notices me, too.

Remembering to Praise

If this is the last day before tomorrow, what else should I be doing but praising God?
