Books of the Bible: Exodus

In intercessory prayer, we are placing those we care about in God’s hands—and relaxing our own grip.

Alexa is fundamentally a disguise, set up to give humans the power we think we deserve. God is fundamentally not a disguise, but one who connects with us by choice.

Maybe you woke up thinking about some catastrophe, and you shouted at God, 'These are your people.' Don’t be surprised when God points to them and says, 'They are your people.'

Do we attract folks when we use modern vernacular in the life of faith? Or is that taking the Lord’s name in vain? Are we against cursing or are we against people being damned?

You would do well to know the difference between being consumed and being afire. Burn for God’s message in you.

The setting: eight church folks sitting outside on a Northern California patio, drinking a nice chardonnay and reading the book of Exodus. Ambient temperature: 72 degrees.
