Advent -- Second Sunday of Advent: Let the Earth Rejoice!
Call to Worship
One: Let the earth rejoice; the God of the Universe reigns!
Let the people be glad!
Many: Righteousness, Love and Justice are the foundation of the Reign of God and of the Christ.
One: For God is sovereign over all the earth
Many: We affirm God's sovereignty upon God's church and upon all of humanity, loved and cherished everywhere.
One: Rejoice in the Lord, O you made upright by our God and give thanks to God's Holy name and nature!
Prayer of Invocation
Eternal God, our Father and our Mother,
Creator of the universe and Reality of today, yesterday and forever; in you we live and breathe and possess our being.
We are grateful for the breath of life and life more abundantly in the consciousness of Christ.
We acknowledge your presence in our midst and thank you for receiving our worship and reverent adoration.
We embrace your holy presence and bask in your incomparable glory.
With gratitude and faith our prayers and hymns are offered in humility and the conviction of our deepest selves.
Your blessings are obvious everywhere and your favor is known in the heavens as well as the earth.
The goodness and gladness of redemptive thought and blessing are ours through your all inclusive love and unconditional acceptance of all.
We bless you in spirit and in truth and worship you in the beauty of your holiness.
Our souls do magnify the Lord and bless your name forever, the name of Jesus, the Christ Principle and Person, who is the light of the world.
And so it is... Amen!
Call to Offering
We can give without worshipping, but we cannot truly worship without giving.
We now bring our gifts to the high altar of offering and we do this cheerfully, generously and sacrificially in the Spirit of Christ.
Prayer of Dedication
O God, our God, the Giver of all things,
We are grateful for your manifold grace towards all and for the beauty and bounty of your blessings.
You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides and El Shaddai, the God of more than enough!
In your name we offer our time, talent and attention along with our treasures surrendered from the work of our own hands.
We honor you with the first fruits of our labor and of our love, putting our mOney in circulation for the benefit of your Reign expressed on earth through our covenant assembly.
It is not a debt we owe, but a seed we sow into the rich and fertile soils of this ministry and your church everywhere. Through our sacrament of giving, may a new world of love and justice be created and sustained where we all may be One in love and forgiveness...
And so it is, Amen
Having gathered together in this worship experience to celebrate God our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer, and after being ministered to, edified, and enjoying the collective transcendence of God's Presence in spirit and truth, we now return to our homes and communities refreshed and inspired to testify of the goodness of God and proclaim the Light that lighteth every man, woman and child and indeed illumines the whole world.
That Light is the Christ Principle and Person; sent of God to inspire us to the higher consciousness of joy, justice, peace, hope, salvation and eternal being.
We leave this place with the eternal blessing, goodness, guidance and grace of the One God who lives, loves and reigns forever.
And so it is and will ever be... Amen!
