Worcester Area Mission Society (WAMS) is the mission arm of the Central Association of the Massachusetts Conference, United Church of Christ. It helps congregations, wherever they may be located in Central Massachusetts and MetroWest, to act on such key concerns as housing, youth development, and hurricane recovery.
WAMS' board of directors is drawn from clergy and lay leaders in area congregations who share your commitment to the ministry and mission of the local church. They recognize that mission not only has a positive impact on the community, but also strengthens churches.
OUTER SPACE ENVIRONMENT
Goddard Project: Humanity is just beginning to recognize that the outer space environment is both valuable and fragile. Named after Worcester 's Robert Goddard, who developed the first liquid-fueled rocket, this project seeks to promote citizen action to protect orbital space as an essential natural resource.
You can learn more about their public education efforts, some undertaken in partnership with the Union of Concerned Scientists, by visiting the dedicated website at www.protectouterspace.com.
