Story:

Through a chance invitation from a friend to go with him to South Africa, I (the Rev. Daniel Lindley Hatch of Honolulu, HI) discovered that my great, great grandfather, and namesake, the Rev. Daniel Lindley had been sent to South Africa in 1834 to minister to the Zulu, and established Inanda Seminary in 1869 as a boarding school for Zulu girls. I was able to be present for their 140th anniversary celebration on March 7&8 and preach at their rededication service! Inanda, is the only missionary school still active in South Africa. It is a mission project of the Global Ministries of the UCC and the Disciples of Christ.

Gracious God,
You have redeemed us through Jesus Christ,
The first-born of all creation,
whose birth we celebrate as the child of Bethlehem.
Bless us with every spiritual blessing,
That we may live as your adopted children and witness to your glory
with unending praise and thanksgiving. Amen.
