Common Lot is a magazine for the women of the United Church of Christ. Since its launch in 1974, the magazine has taken a variety of forms, starting as an 8-page newsletter that became a sought after and valued resource for UCC women in thousands of congregations. As Barbara Brown Zikmund notes in her "Celebrating The Memories: Selected Stories about Women and the United Church of Christ 1957–2007," Common Lot in those days "was a non-descript eight pages of news and articles in brown ink on beige paper. There were no pictures – only a graphic design showing a circle of stick figures joined together in a circle." Forty-two years later, Common Lot looks very different. It is now available online and as a 36-page glossy color magazine available by subscription (free) or for purchase ($3 per issue at uccresources.com).
