Innisfree (Crozet)

Mission:  life-sharing community for adults who have intellectual disabilities. The community lies in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Volunteers come from all over the world to share a year of their lives. (www.innisfreevillage.org) 

Volunteer Position:  Long-term volunteers serve as house managers and companions who are responsible for cooking, housekeeping, and assistance with physical and social needs of their housemates, and the household budget.  Volunteers also work side-by-side with adults with intellectual disabilities in therapeutic workstations including a woodship, a weavery, organic gardens and bakery.

Period:  September - August OR January - December

Apply by:  March 15 OR September 30

Housing:  Community living in homes with volunteers and residents

Minimum Age:  21 years
