 Resources for Volunteers

The Office of Volunteer Ministries of the United Church of Christ partners with host sites throughout the United States and Puerto Rico to provide opportunities for groups.  While the United Church of Christ Volunteer Ministries Office does not act as the liason between Mission Trip host sites and the volunteer group, we provide a yearly listing of possible sites that will engage you and your group in service.  You are encouraged to contact these sites directly.

Disaster Recovery Volunteer Groups:  Compassion in Action - Your service will not only assist in the physical acts of helping people rebuild their homes, but is an act of presence that indicates the commitment to walk beside people as they seek to rebuild their lives. Together, we can be the body of Christ in the world.

F.A.S.T.: Faithful Advocates Serving Together (2009 brochure) is a joint program of the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) providing service each summer in the Appalachian Region. This is the only mission trip opportunit that is organized and managed through the United Church of Christ, Office for Volunteer Ministries. Groups have an opportunity to serve,  to learn more about the causes of poverty, and to covenant to stay involved upon their return home.
