On March 2, 2012 a multi-vortex EF-4 tornado hit southern Indiana around Henryville. Henryville was a town of 2,000 with few buildings left standing after the tornado. The storm was part of a series of seven tornadoes on March 2 that swept though five Midwest states.

Work Needed: Long-Term Disaster recovery from March 2, 2012 tornado in Henryville, IN and the surrounding area. Projects focus on home rebuilding.
Time: Arrive Sunday afternoon and depart Saturday morning. Work Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work is expected to continue through June 30, 2013.
Accommodations: Housing provided at local churches, fire house, or at local camp. Registrar will arrange housing for your group following your on-line registration. Group brings own bedding and food. Bathrooms, showers, and access to laundry and kitchen facilities and utensils are available.
Cost: $50 per person per week to the host church providing accommodations to help offset costs of utilities and maintenance. Costs for building materials and tools, and construction supervision provided through southern Indiana local partners. Minimum Age: 16 years. Volunteers under age 18 have specific waiver forms requiring parent/guardian signature.
Group Size: Maximum number per work site is 25.
